For the cabbage layer, chop the cabbage and cook in oil. Salt, pepper and add 100 ml of water. Add thyme and dill and leave for a few minutes until the liquid drops and the cabbage begins to soften.

Boil the rice separately in salted water. I had bags of boiled rice that are boiled in a lot of salted water, resulting in a fluffy grain that does not stick.

For the layer of meat, cleaned, chopped onions are fried in oil with minced meat. Season with salt, paprika and pepper. Simmer with broth until the meat begins to whiten.

Assembly: First put a little oil and then a layer of broth in a tray. Mount in layers starting with a layer of cabbage and then a layer of rice. Next is the layer with minced meat and broth. Repeat the stratification once more. At the end, cut the tomatoes into slices and sprinkle with oil.

Put the tray in the oven for 20-30 minutes for gratin.

Serve Cluj cabbage accompanied by sour cream - or yogurt, as desired.
